When you're helping people heal through the power of homegrown food, every moment matters - that's something Nicole from Patio Produce knows deeply. As a certified garden kitchen coach, her goal is to guide women recovering from serious health conditions to take charge of their wellness by growing their own nutritious vegetables and herbs.

But Nicole faced a challenge that many passionate experts encounter: her wealth of knowledge overwhelmed her welcome email series. "As a former English major, I tend to be very detailed in my writing," she shares. But in today's world of short attention spans, Nicole knew she needed something different – something that would really engage her subscribers from the start.

Finding the Right Path

Like the gardens she helps her clients nurture, Nicole knew her welcome series needed careful tending. She wanted to create an experience that would truly resonate with women at a critical point in their health journey while being mindful of their limited energy and time.

"What amazed me was how quickly you got it," Nicole recalls of our first conversation. "Just a few questions in, and you intuitively understood not just my niche business, but what drives my revenue. That's rare in my experience."

Planting a Seed of Change

I reimagined her welcome series from the ground up. The process started with careful planning in Miro (my absolute favorite workspace), where I mapped out the welcome journey visually.

The process was collaborative, focused, and energizing. "I loved the weekly status update too - it was so helpful in keeping us both on the same page and letting me know how the welcome flow was coming along," Nicole explains.

One of the biggest shifts was simplifying the series. "You clearly outlined why a successful welcome flow contains fewer emails than my original welcome flow," she notes. "I firmly believe that the new welcome flow will provide a better experience for my newsletter subscribers while keeping them more engaged."

The transformation was everything Nicole hoped for – and more. From clean designs to pops of color to impactful messaging, this flow was built to be engaging. "I absolutely love your clear writing style and messaging,” Nicole beams.

What made the process even smoother? The attention to detail and thoughtful communication. "The video walkthrough of the first draft was such a time-saver," Nicole shares. "As someone with limited time, eliminating the need for another meeting while still getting a clear understanding of the changes was incredibly helpful. You are so thoughtful!"

A Lasting Growth

Today, Nicole's welcome series matches the care and intention she brings to her coaching. It's streamlined yet impactful, professional yet personal – just like her approach to helping women transform their health through gardening.

"You are a delight to work with as a person and you create such great energy around the projects you touch. ," Nicole reflects. "Every business needs that kind of energy infusion!"

For Nicole, this wasn't just about improving emails – it was about creating a warmer, more engaging first impression for women taking their first steps toward better health through gardening. Now, her welcome series nurtures these relationships as carefully as her clients nurture their first gardens.

As she puts it, "I firmly believe this will result in higher engagement going forward." And like any well-tended garden, these early engagements will grow into something amazing.
